Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel

Philippians 1:27 NIV

-Worthy of the gospel…. The gospel says that I am unworthy, wretched, and separated from God. Yet because of God's love displayed on the cross through the sacrifice of Christ Jesus, I am made worthy, I am forgiven, and I am adopted into God's family if I choose to accept the invitation. The invitation is offered because of God's goodness, and in spite of my lack of. So how do I conduct myself worthy of grace? By extending that same grace to every other equally unworthy sinner I cross paths with.

Unconditional and undeserved compassion, understanding, love, and forgiveness.

*Father, your grace is sufficient for me, and without it I stood no chance. Help me to remember that in order for me to conduct myself in a manner worthy of the gospel I must share Christ with others by deed as well as word. Lord, forgive me for the times I lose sight of the fact that nobody is more unworthy of the love and forgiveness you faithfully lavish upon me. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
