Who Do You Say Jesus Is?
Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision. Joel 3:14
The day is here my friend. Choose you this day whom you will serve. We are each accountable for who we say Jesus is. Is He your King? Is He your Savior? Is He the one you turn to in time of need? Is He preparing a place for you? Are you waiting His return?
I often tell the children that they alone will stand before God. Parents, preachers, teachers nor friends can answer for us that day. The decisions we have made, the words from our mouth, the things we have done will be on display for all to see. Who have you said Jesus is? What are your words today about what He has done for you? Can others see Him in you?
In Matthew chapter 16 verse 15, Jesus asks the disciples the question before you today. But who do you yourselves say that I am?
Will your answer be the same as Peter’s? Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Being divine, Jesus already knew what His disciples thought. He knows what you think too. However, Jesus often asked questions to make us think. A check for our spirit so to speak. Peter’s answer was so important that in Jesus’ reply he said that as the Son of God was the very rock or foundation for the church. He is the firm foundation for your life too. Many people thought then and think now that Christ is just a prophet, great teacher and moral leader but His disciples thought different. They saw Him raised from the dead, they worshipped Him as God and were even willing to die for what they believed about Him. Proclaiming who Jesus is part of salvation. If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9
You must make your choice. Claim Him as Lord, submit to Him and live forever.
