Today, Forgive Yourself and Let's God Forward
On the cross of Jesus, nearly 2000 years ago, Jesus said, “It is finished.” Victory was declared and reconciliation began. It was the victory promised when Jesus was born and the angels declared, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” (Luke 2:14) Were they saying Jesus came to create peace among men? The peace God spoke of was not among men, but between God and man. Sin is no longer the real issue; the price has been what? PAID IN FULL! The price has been paid by the blood of Jesus Christ once and for all. God sent His Son to bare our sin and sins, becoming sin for us. God has done it for us, made a way spiritually to live in peace and forget the past.
Keys To Forgetting Your Past
1. Knowing God as your creator- Genesis 1, Psalms 139-Knowing Jesus as your Savior… being born again-John 3. Being filled with the Holy Spirit giving you power to live. Acts1:8
2. Knowing Jesus forgives sin, your past failures and remembers them no more, Hebrews 8:12 For I will forgive their sins, iniquities, evil, and will remember their sins no more! Isaiah 43:18-19 says forget the former things, do not dwell on the past!
3. Daily Renewing Your Mind!!!
Romans 12:1-2 I beg you by the mercies of God to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed they the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, which is good, acceptable and perfect.
Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Jesus Christ dwell in you richly, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, buy you shall meditate on it day and night so that you may be careful to observe to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous and then you will act wisely and have success
I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
4. Being Tough Minded and Disciplined
II Corinthians 10:3-6 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but are mighty before God or divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations (stuff that’s not true) and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ Jesus, and we are ready to punish all disobedience whenever your obedience is complete.
Being around people that will build you up and strengthen you. Luke 22:32
The apostle Paul lived a life of looking ahead and I pray that you and I can do the same as the Word of God tells us as follows…
And herein do I exercise myself or practice myself, to have always a conscience void or empty of offense toward God and toward man. Acts 24:16
Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles or mental games of the devil. Ephesians 6:11
Keep looking up and out!
