Everett R. Storms, a Canadian school teacher took a year and a half to compile all the promises in the Bible. Promises by God to man are (7,487), one man to another (991), God the Father to God the Son (2), man to God (290) and several other combinations, including nine made by satan…in all, Storms tallied 8,810 promises.
What does a promise mean in the Bible? A declaration that one will do or refrain from doing something specific. Perhaps the greatest 2 promises in the entire Bible are as follows…
The wonderful promise of Philippians 4:19…And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Today, my God will supply every need of yours and mine!
The other promise, which is dear to me is…I will give you peace. John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let you hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
God’s desire for you today is to walk in peace…not allowing a war of the mind to take place. Stand strong as Ephesians 6 tells us four times!
