The Mountains are Glistening
One spring morning, Larry & I went for a drive in the Montana mountains. An inch of snow had fallen during the night in the valley on our town, but the higher mountain elevations received six inches. Everything was covered with the fluffy white stuff, except for some of the tall pine trees. The snow glistened and sparkled, it hadn’t had time to start melting or for the atmosphere to pollute the snow to a gray color.
It’s hard to believe that anything could be whiter than the snow we saw in the mountains that day. But, God’s Word says that He will make us whiter than snow.
Because of past sins and mistakes, some people have a hard time believing that God has completely forgiven them. Still, the truth is: Christ’s death on the cross accomplished complete forgiveness for each who will accept it. We are then whiter than snow in God’s eyes.
I’m glistening in God’s eyes – what a great word picture.
“Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.” Psalm 51:7 (NIV)
