Spiritual Manna

Hebrews 9:1–5 (NASB95): The Old and the New

Now even the first covenant had regulations of divine worship and the earthly sanctuary. For there was a tabernacle prepared, the outer one, in which were the lampstand and the table and the sacred bread; this is called the holy place.

Behind the second veil, there was a tabernacle which is called the Holy of Holies,

having a golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, in which was a golden jar holding the manna, and Aaron’s rod which budded, and the tables of the covenant; and above it were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat; but of these things we cannot now speak in detail.

As we begin to unwrap the empowerment of the Holy Spirit and the many ways we need Him in our lives. We begin to see the representation found in the Ark of The Covenant. Hebrews chapter nine lists the items placed in the Ark of the Covenant. Manna is something we associate with provision. The Lord provided food each day for the Nation of Israel. The interesting aspect was manna was not to be saved for the next day except for the Sabbath.

In the prayer, Jesus instructs us to pray in Luke 11:1-13; we are to pray for our daily bread. This is not only in physical form but also in our spirit. What we need and how we need it often varies daily, but one thing remains: He knows. My prayer is that I become dependent on the Holy Spirit.

When I do, my prayer will align with the provision needed for my daily walk.
