Seasons

Jeremiah 17:7-8 “ But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

Anyone who has lived on this earth has learned there are seasons to life. All of us enjoy the ones of bountiful blessing, peace and contentment. But the difficult ones of loss, weariness and uncertainty are never desired. However, the season we want to avoid often yields the most fruit in our relationship with the Lord. It’s a time of recommitment. During that season we have to choose to trust when we don’t understand. We choose to stay faithful when we don’t always “feel” the Lord near. We have to stay grounded in the truth when the enemy uses the pain of hard situations and the deception of our feelings as a weapon. We have to put ALL of our confidence in the Lord and know He does not put His servants to shame. Difficult seasons can testify to others and even yourself where your hope is anchored. The Bible calls us blessed when we trust the Lord! Friends, He is so worthy of our trust. He is faithful, steadfast and never changing. His love and compassion are beyond measure, and He is always working for our good. So do not fear, even in times of drought because the fruit is coming if you’ll place your confidence in the one who will not fail.
