Raise Up a Child

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.  Proverbs 22:6

I was raised to respect my elders and others.  I was taught to be grateful for what I have and have good manners, yes sir and no sir.  My teaching included that you must work for what you get and that nothing is free.  These teaching have followed me all my life.  We raised our kids the same way, to be respectful, to work hard and make something of your life.  They have done well, and I am very proud of my kids.  I pray for them daily and tell them I love them.

Be An Example

And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness.  God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to knowledge of the truth.  2 Timothy 2:24-25

Here are a few things that I have learned from being an older sibling:

1.    Little watch and do what you do

2.    Always love them

3.    Watch out for them

4.    Always help them if they are in need

Don’t forget to do good.  Don’t forget to share with others.  God is pleased with those kinds of offerings.  Hebrews 13:16
