One Way

I am the way, and the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.  John 14:6

The children sing a song called One Way by Hillsong Worship.  The song expresses laying our life at Jesus’ feet.  Voicing that Jesus is the only one we need because He is always there, He will never change and His grace knows no bounds.  It is an upbeat song and the children’s voices raise as they point upward jumping in joyous celebration singing:

          One way, Jesus

You’re the only one that I could live for

You are the way, the truth, and the life

We live by faith and not by sight for You

We’re livin’ all for You

We do have something to celebrate.  As the song reminds us that in troubled times it is Jesus we should seek.  We should humbly put Him first acknowledging that His grace is sufficient and abounds deeply within us.  Jesus was speaking to the disciples when He made this statement, just shortly before his arrest and crucifixion.  One commentary says that Jesus was offering comfort and reassurance about his departure and their future relationship with God.  I am sure that is true.  But I believe He was affirming the cornerstone of our doctrine and belief. Many try to arrange scripture to suit their desire but John 8:24 says, If you do not believe that I am he, you will die in your sins.

Jesus left no room interpretation.  The only way to see Heaven is in and through Jesus Christ.  Do you know Him today?

And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.  Acts 4:12
