How Do I Forgive Those Who Sinned Against Me?
Simple Answer… With your mouth. Verbally speaking the words I forgive you with meaning behind it. Forgiving others is a very tough task for our human brains to want to do. Its not something that comes naturally or even very easy. So where and how do you start the forgiveness process for someone who has hurt you or angered you. The process with so many things in our life starts with God. Having a conversation with him, and even though he knows the situation explain it to him. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Ask God to give you the courage and power to forgive those who have sinned against you. Without God’s guidance in these situations we are likely to not completely forgive, and not completely forgiving is still living with that situation unresolved in your life. We have to guard our hearts as we just read in this scripture and make our minds right with what we think. This is ultimately our recipe for forgiveness. It comes from our heart and our mind, and if we read verse 6 in the scripture it tells us to pray about everything. So how do you forgive? Praying out loud with your mouth and speaking the words, then finding that person who you are forgiving and speak the words to them as well. Letting them know you forgive them carries a lot of power in your forgiveness process.
Be Blessed,
