God Revealed

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. 21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Romans 1:18-21

Who can deny God as being God? I have often pondered about how my life is different from others. Born in a Christian home who loved and served the Lord, born into a heritage of family members who for generations served God, it would seem my opportunity to choose Jesus as my Lord would be more accessible. However, this passage of scripture makes it clear we have all been given the same opportunity to know God.

There comes a time in each person's life that they can choose to accept the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ, or they can suppress this truth. God Almighty is revealed through His creation giving all mankind an opportunity to know Him as God, honor Him as Lord of their lives and to thank Him for the gift of salvation from His righteous wrath. This is a sobering thought and one that shows we have all been given the opportunity to choose to serve Jesus. My prayer is we continue on the path of righteousness with the Holy Spirit leading and strengthening us and we encourage those around us to do the same, living out the mission of the church.
