For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
If you asked most people in the world to say a Bible verse, many would be able to say “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son”. The real question is, what does this verse mean? The scripture shows God’s heart and His purpose and that is love. God’s love is unconditional and so wide it covers everyone, it does not matter your past, failures, or addictions. I love the song lyrics for God so Loved by We The Kingdom.
For God so loved
The world that He gave us
His one and only
Son to save us
Whoever believes in Him
Will live forever
Bring all your failures
Bring your addictions
Come lay them down
At the foot of the cross
Jesus is waiting there
It does not matter if you are on top of the mountain or a pit so deep you cannot see out because God’s love is greater than any pit, but it requires us to leave everything at the cross and run to his open arms. For God so loved the World (everyone) that He allowed His Son to take on the sins of the World and defeat the powers of hell. What a loving God!
