Dessert

The whisper, the murmurs, the gossip…I’m stuck this morning meditating on how the Bible uses imagery of gossip as dessert or (junk food). Once we start with tasty dessert it’s hard to stop. Refusing dessert is next to impossible. We have to stop spreading (junk food) and stop being a stumbling block to those who are on a diet.

“The words of a talebearer are like tasty trifles, and they go down into the inmost body.”

Proverbs 18:8 NKJV

We often want to shape and mold people's character based on our opinions of that person. That's a dangerous place to be especially when we are called to love each other.

Think about this, we digested as much of God’s Word as we do gossip!

“Your words were found, and I ate them, And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts.”

Jeremiah 15:16 NKJV
