Children of the Light

1 John 1:5-7 This is the life-giving message we heard him share and it’s still ringing in our ears. We now repeat his words to you: God is pure light. You will never find even a trace of darkness in him. If we claim that we share life with him, but keep walking in the realm of darkness, we’re fooling ourselves and not living the truth. But if we keep living in the pure light that surrounds him, we share unbroken fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, continually cleanses us from all sin.

I love this translation so much because it paints a beautiful truth. Our Father is pure light and as His children we can be void of darkness, as He is. In fact, the science of darkness is the proof that we are a believer to the world. If we try to become like those who are lost, we will never bring the exposure that penetrates darkness and brings salvation. When light enters the equation it’s unarguable. It is visual proof of something real and no argument can be made against what is being experienced. We should live our life in the same way. We are to be obvious proof that the reality of Jesus Christ is alive in us.

When we come in, hope is available, salvation is possible and darkness must give way to the overcoming power of the light of the gospel of Christ. The light brings Clairty to concussion, a sure step to those stumbling about trying to know where to go, it exposes things that need attention. The light doesn’t challenge the darkness it overwhelms it simply by being present. Friends, we have the hope of glory, the light of the world living inside of us. We can overwhelm the presence of sin and bring the light of salvation simply by being His children. Don’t let sin break your fellowship with the giver of light, share life with the Master and light your world for Christ.
