Are You Running on Empty?

I made a trip this past week in my truck, and it doesn’t get the best gas mileage. I watched as my fuel gauge moved slowly toward empty. I was in an area where fuel was hard to come by and I began to panic a little because I wasn’t full. I spent a lot of time looking for something I should have already had. I had passed gas stations, but I kept thinking there would be something better down the road.
Isn’t that like our Christian lives sometimes? When we aren’t full, we are always looking for something to fill us. We spend more time doing that instead of the things God has called us to do. In Acts 11:24 speaking of Barnabas, “He was a good man, full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people were added unto the Lord.” That’s what happens when we stay full. SOH is a great place to fill your tank. Don’t get caught on empty.
