A Living Sacrifice

Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:1-2

As believers, we are called to present our bodies as a sacrifice that is acceptable to God. When I read this verse I started thinking, would my sacrifice be pleasing and acceptable to God? The following verse talks specifically about separating from the world and transforming our minds. We frequently talk to the youth about using caution what they put in their bodies. Recently, we have talked about the horrible vaping epidemic and the life-threatening effects. We have challenged the youth to be cognizant about what they put in their bodies not only because it could be unhealthy but it could hinder their walk.

As believers, we must separate ourselves from the world and that might mean quitting a habit or standing up for what is right. Are our actions good and acceptable in The Lord’s eyes? We stand with the world or with Christ but we cannot straddle the fence. Is there anything that is not pleasing to The Lord that you need to give up?
