Hold Them Up

Exodus 17:12 “But Moses’ hands were heavy. Then they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it; and Aaron and Hur supported his hand, one on one side and one on the other. Thus, his hands were steady until the sun set.”
I see this passage and there is a lot that could be gleaned from it. Personally, I see that the treasure of support can be as valuable as a won or lost battle. These two men saw that their leader was tired, and they strengthen him. As they surrounded him and held up his hands when he could not, the victory was won.
The body of Christ is a precious treasure because within it, you will find support. You will find those who love you enough to speak truth in love, speak life when you need it, and partner in prayer with you. There is a Godly support system to be found in the body of Christ.
In the same manner, we ourselves need to be that kind of support an encouragement to one another. It is true that we never know the battle another is facing, and so for that reason alone, may we build one another up. May we be ready with encouraging words, with a helping hand, may we be burdened for our beloved body to be faithful to pray for the needs of one another.
We will never know the impact of holding up the arms of another who is weary in battle. It can be as crucial as victory or defeat. Let us be ready in season and out, to do the work of the Lord in carrying others burdens to see the victory.
