Submit

Oh, there is a word that is often despised and often the root of so many problems in Life and in the Church. Submit. So many times, you see people who have so many great qualities but lack in this department and it becomes a hindrance in their faith and or cripples them all together. Truth be known I find myself thinking how my idea is best, or my youth gets the better of me and I find myself looking back seeing that maybe my idea wasn’t best after all.

In First Peter five it talks about this very thing. And I am sure it was put in the Bible just for me lol. Walking out your Christian faith is recognizing what needs improvement, examining where you need to make some adjustments. Far too often young men refuse to subject themselves to authority and grow up to be men who have a lot of great qualities but never develop humility. This generation is full of proud men who have never grown into Godly Righteous Men. I for one am choosing to apply 1 Peter 5 5-7 to my life.

“You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE. Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.”
