Lukewarm
During the past month, The Lord has really put on my heart about living sold out to Christ. I love how The Lord works because during the time it was placed on my heart Pastor Sam’s sermons went right along with my burden.
One Sunday morning he said, “anything that keeps you from Jesus, you are a slave to that thing and it's keeping you from your full potential with Jesus”. He also talked about having a spirit of mediocracy and that we need to flee from mediocracy. Sister Dosha then spoke on that we have to be different from the world. We are called to be separate from the world and different. If we are lukewarm we are told in Revelations 3:15-16 what will happen.
Revelations 3:15-16
15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
In 1 John 2:15-16 it is very clear that anything from the world does not come from The Father.
1 John 2:15-16
15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. 16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.
We cannot live one foot in the world and one foot with Christ. We have to be sold out for Christ and live for him. I encourage you to press in and seek him. It says in James 4:8 that if we draw near to God, he will draw near to us. Dare to be Different! Live in radical obedience and see what The Lord does!
